AI Product Engineer — Stonk Journal

You build Stonk Journal features end to end, from a Python/FastAPI backend through a vanilla JavaScript frontend with real-time WebSocket updates. You also wire the journal into AI agents over API and MCP so that activity on EventTrader can fill entries automatically while manual logging keeps working.

💰 Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 USD / year · Remote OK

What you'll do

• Ship features across the FastAPI backend and vanilla JS frontend
• Deliver real-time journal updates over WebSocket so entries appear as they happen
• Expose journal capabilities to AI agents through clean API and MCP surfaces
• Build the path that lets EventTrader activity fill the journal automatically alongside manual entry
• Keep every displayed value accurate and consistent across backend, API and UI

What you bring

• Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills
• Hands-on vanilla JavaScript and real-time WebSocket experience
• Experience integrating applications with AI agents via API and MCP
• Ability to own a feature from data model to live UI
