AI Product Engineer — StockTwits

You build StockTwits end to end, from the Python/FastAPI backend that attaches an order book to every take to the vanilla-JS frontend that streams it live over WebSocket. You also expose the app to AI agents through API and MCP so an agent can read takes and their attached books the same way a person does.

What you'll do

• Build features across the FastAPI backend and vanilla-JS frontend that bind each take to its live order book
• Stream order book and trade updates to the client in real time over WebSocket
• Expose takes and their attached books through clean API and MCP surfaces for AI agents
• Implement the logic that keeps every displayed price and size consistent with the underlying market
• Ship features across backend, frontend, and agent interfaces together so a path works from every entry point

What you bring

• Strong Python and FastAPI experience building real-time, data-driven features
• Proficiency with vanilla JavaScript and WebSocket-driven live updates
• Experience designing APIs and MCP interfaces for AI-agent consumption
• Comfort owning a feature end to end across backend, frontend, and agent surfaces
