You build Trending end to end: the backend that ranks assets and event cards by news-heat and volume, and the frontend that shows what the market is watching right now. You keep the ranking live over WebSocket and expose it so AI agents can query the same trending signals via API and MCP.

💰 Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 USD / year · Remote OK
What you'll do
- Build the FastAPI backend that computes and serves news-heat and volume rankings for assets and event cards
- Build the vanilla JS frontend that renders the trending list and card detail
- Stream ranking and volume updates in real time over WebSocket so the list stays current
- Expose Trending data through API and MCP endpoints for AI agents to consume
- Handle thin-data, stale and error cases so the ranking degrades gracefully
What you bring
- Strong Python/FastAPI backend skills and vanilla JS frontend experience
- Experience building real-time features with WebSocket data streams
- Ability to design clean APIs and wire features into AI agents via MCP
- Comfort turning heat and volume signals into reliable, live ranking logic
