AI Product Engineer — Metaculus

You build Metaculus end to end: the Python and FastAPI backend that pairs an aggregated forecast with an order book, and the vanilla JS frontend that renders both with real-time WebSocket data. You also wire the question and market into AI agents through an API and MCP so agents can read forecasts and act on the book.

What you'll do

• Build backend features in Python and FastAPI that attach an order book to a forecasting question
• Build the vanilla JS frontend rendering forecasts and the order book with real-time WebSocket updates
• Expose the app to AI agents through a clean API and MCP so agents can read and act
• Keep displayed forecasts, prices and totals accurate and consistent across backend and frontend
• Ship features across backend, frontend and agent surfaces together so each flow works for a real user

What you bring

• Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills and vanilla JS frontend experience
• Experience delivering real-time data to a browser over WebSockets
• Experience exposing product capabilities to AI agents via API and MCP
• Ability to build a feature end to end across backend, frontend and agent interfaces
