QA Engineer / Tester — Metaculus

You test Metaculus end to end on the live site as a brand-new user would, walking each forecasting question and its attached order book from first view through placing an order. You reconcile every forecast, price and count the app shows against an independent source of truth, and turn each defect into a reproducible report plus a regression test.

💰 Salary: $85,000 – $135,000 USD / year · Remote OK

What you'll do

• Walk the full new-user flow on the live site: find a question, read the aggregated forecast, view the order book, and place an order
• Reconcile every number shown — forecasts, order book prices, sizes and totals — against an outside source of truth
• Write each defect as a step-by-step reproducible report with exact inputs and observed versus expected results
• Convert each confirmed defect into an automated regression test so it cannot silently return
• Verify empty, loading and edge states behave correctly across desktop and mobile views

What you bring

• Hands-on experience testing live web applications exactly as an end user, not just in staging
• Rigor in reconciling displayed figures against independent references and spotting discrepancies
• Ability to author clear reproducible bug reports and automated regression tests
• Comfort with real-time data surfaces such as order books and continuously updating forecasts
