AI Product Engineer — DefiLlama

You build the DefiLlama app end to end: a Python/FastAPI backend, a vanilla JS frontend, and real-time WebSocket data that keeps the neutral scoreboard current within its known TVL lag. You wire the app into AI agents through API and MCP so a thesis can flow into a capped-risk EventTrader position programmatically.

What you'll do

• Build backend features in Python/FastAPI that assemble the neutral scoreboard and expose its metrics
• Build the vanilla JS frontend and stream updates over WebSocket so the scoreboard stays live
• Expose the app to AI agents via clean API and MCP interfaces, including the hand-off from thesis to capped-risk position
• Keep the research-only scoreboard and the capped-risk position path correctly separated in code
• Handle TVL-lag semantics so data is presented with the right freshness signals

What you bring

• Strong Python/FastAPI backend and vanilla JS frontend skills
• Experience delivering real-time data to a browser over WebSocket
• Experience exposing features to AI agents through API and MCP
• Comfort working with DeFi data such as TVL and rankings
