AI Product Engineer — Barchart
You build Barchart's features end to end, from a Python and FastAPI backend to a vanilla JavaScript frontend fed by real-time WebSocket streams of live stock and crypto data. You also expose the app to AI agents through a clean API and MCP so both people and agents can screen and stream data freely.

💰 Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 USD / year · Remote OK
What you'll do
- Build features across a FastAPI backend and vanilla JavaScript frontend for live stock and crypto data
- Stream market data to the browser over WebSockets with no polling and no artificial delay
- Design and ship clean API and MCP interfaces so AI agents can query and screen data
- Implement crypto screening and live views that stay free and ungated for users
- Collaborate with design and QA to ship, verify and harden each feature on the live product
What you bring
- Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills plus vanilla JavaScript frontend experience
- Hands-on experience with real-time WebSocket data delivery
- Experience exposing functionality to AI agents via API and MCP
- Familiarity with stock and crypto market data and screening
