AI Product Engineer — Backtrader
You build Backtrader features end to end so traders can host live strategies without wrestling frozen versions and broken plotting. You write the Python/FastAPI backend and vanilla JavaScript frontend with real-time WebSocket data, and wire the app into AI agents through its API and MCP surface.

What you'll do
- Build features across the FastAPI backend and vanilla JavaScript frontend
- Stream strategy results and live data to the frontend over WebSockets
- Expose the app to AI agents through a clean API and MCP integration
- Keep hosted strategies running reliably so users skip version and plotting setup entirely
What you bring
- Strong Python and FastAPI experience building production web features
- Proficiency with vanilla JavaScript and real-time WebSocket data delivery
- Experience designing APIs and MCP surfaces that AI agents can call
- Working knowledge of strategy backtesting and charting output
