AI Product Engineer — Oil Perp (WTI)

You build the WTI crude oil perpetual end to end: the backend that tracks the oracle-anchored index and leveraged positions, the frontend traders interact with, and the real-time data that keeps prices and P&L live. You expose the same trading surface to AI agents through a clean programmatic interface.

💰 Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 USD / year · Remote OK

What you'll do

• Build backend services in Python for the index, position, margin and funding logic up to 5x leverage
• Implement the trading frontend in vanilla JavaScript against real-time streaming data
• Deliver live orderbook, price and position updates over WebSocket without double-updates
• Expose the OIL-PERP trading surface to AI agents via a programmatic and agent-callable interface
• Keep displayed prices anchored to the external oracle and fail closed on bad data

What you bring

• Strong Python and FastAPI backend experience
• Vanilla JavaScript frontend skills with real-time WebSocket data
• Experience building or integrating agent-callable APIs
• Care for correctness and fail-closed behavior in financial, real-time systems
