AI Product Engineer — Perpetuals

Builds features of the Perpetuals perpetual-futures app end to end, from a Python and FastAPI backend to a vanilla-JS frontend fed by real-time WebSocket data. Wires the same trading capabilities into AI agents through clean API and MCP surfaces so both humans and agents can trade.

💰 Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 USD / year · Remote OK

What you'll do

• Ship features across the FastAPI backend and vanilla-JS frontend for opening, managing and closing perpetual positions
• Stream marks, funding, order and position updates over WebSocket so the UI stays live without polling
• Expose trading and market-data capabilities through well-documented API and MCP endpoints for AI agents
• Enforce correctness on money and position paths so displayed balances and PnL always match reality
• Instrument and harden the real-time pipeline for latency, reconnects and failure states

What you bring

• Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills plus vanilla JavaScript on the frontend
• Experience building real-time systems with WebSockets
• Has built API or MCP integrations that let AI agents take actions
• Careful with financial correctness, fail-closed logic and edge cases
• Comfortable owning a feature from data model through UI
