AI Product Engineer — Asset Universe
You build Asset Universe end to end: the Python and FastAPI backend serving the ontology of tens of thousands of vehicles across stocks, crypto and ETFs, and the vanilla JS frontend that browses them and paper-trades with a simulated balance. You wire real-time data over WebSockets and expose the app to AI agents through its API and MCP surface.

💰 Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 USD / year · Remote OK
What you'll do
- Build backend endpoints in Python and FastAPI that serve and search the vehicle ontology
- Implement the paper-trading engine that runs simulated trades against the simulated balance
- Build the vanilla JS frontend for browsing, searching and trading any vehicle
- Stream live market data to the frontend over WebSockets with one source of truth
- Expose the app to AI agents via clean API and MCP integrations
What you bring
- Strong Python and FastAPI backend experience plus vanilla JS frontend skills
- Experience building real-time features with WebSockets on data-heavy pages
- Ability to design and ship APIs consumed by both humans and AI agents
- Comfort owning a feature across backend, frontend and integration layers
